Cake passion

Tartacadabra is a team formed by two lovers of cake designing: Lara & Julio. We have been creating cakes since 2006, first in Amsterdam, and now in Alicante.

Lara's passion for cakes is a family heritage: her mother loves to bake cakes, as did her grandmother. When she was a little child, the oven spreaded mouthwatering scents through the house at every party or birthday. But the most special cake was ordered yearly by grandma for her birthday, a delicious and beautifully decorated cake with marzipan roses. And this kind of decorated cake looked like pure magic to Lara. With these memories in mind, one day she put on the magic cake apron and started creating decorated cakes. This work gives her the same magic sensation she got from grandma's special birthday cakes. Hence the name we have chosen for our edible art: Tartacadabra

We wish to thank the great sorceresses from the Magical World of Decorated Cakes, like Lindy Smith, Debbie Brown, Colette Peters, Peggy Porschen and, specially, Wendy Schlagwein (whose frienship we cherish). We have learned from them almost every technique, style, idea and trick that, combined with our personal magic touch, allow us to create our unique cakes.
